Origins
STARTED BY ANSHU GUPTA WITH AN INTENT TO BRING INDIAN EMBROIDERY TO A WIDER AUDIENCE
Born in Varanasi, India, a city steeped in heritage and culture, she grew up surrounded by a rich tradition of craftsmanship. Originally a dentist by trade, she discovered her talent for the arts after moving to the UK and taking a series of art classes with Kent-based artist Elizabeth Harbour. Encouraged to further explore her creative potential, she retrained at the prestigious KLC School of Design in London, where she developed her love of timeless, characterful design.

SAAYA
Anshu started Saaya inspired by her heritage and artisans of her youth. Meaning reflection or shadow, Saaya celebrates Chikankari and Jamdani. She takes inspiration from the traditions and skills passed down through generations, creating pieces that add a little warmth, sense of history and joy to your home.

STUDIO 22
Anshu also offers interior design services through Studio 22, her interior design consultancy. Currently living in Kent, she has developed a timeless and characterful design style. She loves introducing colours and texture to spaces, infusing them with a sense of heritage and a natural, organic feel.
